For once we have actually managed to get to an airport well ahead of time we were there 1.5 hours before our flight leaves! A miracle for us!
After returning the car, we took the air train, which is in walking distance from Hertz car rental. Delta flies from terminal 2, we got off at terminal 2 from there it is about 5 – 7 minutes walk to the check in desk.
We visited the delta lounge which was nice, our priority pass did not allow us entry but they allow access for American Express platinum charge card holders.
Just left McLean around midday to head up to NYC for sightseeing, we will be staying the Jamaica, Queens.
The drive is about 5 hours and we stopped for gas and restrooms breaks, what a nice drive, we drove through, DC, Maryland, New Jersey. Did not stop for sightseeing as we wanted to spend more time around NYC.
We arrived at the motel around 5:30, due to my great drive and fantastic navigation from Sangeet.
So now it is pretty late for sightseeing so we decided to meet Mako at Buddha Bodai. Before that Sangeet and I popped to Babycakes NYC for a our last doughnuts on he east coast , then had a brisk walk to Buddha Bodai.
As always they served fantastic food, the orange ‘chicken’ is amazing. After having a filling dinner we decided on ice cream so we took a cab to Lula’s but unfortunately they closed early!!!!! Outrageous!
So the next is G R O M! Where we say and ate fantastic ice cream, we then showed Mako where Cafe Regio is….Mako may extend her trip for another two weeks so will def go to Cafe Regio.
We then walked west to our subway, it was also close to where Mako is staying.
It was around midnight when we took the subway, it was the ‘e’ line our carriage had around 15 policemen…..I think they were nervous when the saw me!
Okay one sardhana was a lot for me so today I had a sleep in!
I was in time for breakfast which is also an achievement for me!
The first concert of the day was by Jai-Jagdeesh she was amazing!
She also did an amazing dance:
This was followed by a very tough yoga krya with Gurmukh, music by Snatam Kaur
After lunch where Ravinder and I went for a Chinese! There was a concert by Gurunam Singh:
Then there was a fantastic session by Mahan Rishi, music by Mirabei Ceiba. What a fantastic combination. Mahan Rishi, if you ever get a chance his classes are certainly worth attending.
In the evening there was a concert by Snatam Kaur, she just gets better!!
Snatam Kaur sings Kirtan Sohilla…this is amazing!
For those of you who just want to listen to the Kirtan Sohilla please forward to 9:19
The day ended on such a high we were so blessed to be able to listen to excellent artists.
